Leisure Power Check

About Leisure Power Check

A UK index of published manufacturer facts about campervan, motorhome and caravan 12V electrics, with checkers that apply those facts to your own figures and show the working. Run by Swansea Digital, Swansea, Wales, UK.

Why it exists

The 12V leisure-electrics niche is saturated with confident arithmetic and almost none of it is sourced. Several of the most-repeated “standard” figures turn out to have no standards authority behind them. The number on a leisure battery’s box is frequently not the 20-hour figure, and no UK retailer shows the difference. No appliance maker publishes a duty cycle, yet every incumbent calculator assumes one. This site records what is actually published, with the date it was checked, and says “No published statement found” where nothing is.

What it covers

What it leaves out, on purpose

Cable sizing, fuse sizing, wiring instructions, 230 V and LPG guidance, product rankings and anything sourced from a retailer listing or forum. The reasons are in the methodology.

How it is built

A static site generated from a validated dataset of JSON records, each field group carrying a source and a checked date or an absence entry. Every page is a cut of the same dataset, so pages cannot contradict each other. The build fails on any hard-rule breach: a specification resting on a secondary source, a gap without a dated absence entry, an unverified rule marked implemented, an affiliate link without its label, a third-party script, or a JSON-LD block that does not parse. The dataset is public at /api/v1/.

Reuse

The compilation (record structure, absence findings, checked dates) may be reused with attribution to Leisure Power Check and a link to the record. Quoted manufacturer wording remains attributable to its original publisher. Suggested citation: Leisure Power Check, “[record name]”, [record URL], source checked [date], accessed [date].

This site publishes what manufacturers and standards bodies have published. It does not design electrical installations and is not a substitute for a competent auto electrician or a habitation check.
